The Riverina Youth Orchestra is one of the flagship ensembles of the RCM and offers an incredible opportunity for the finest students of orchestral instruments from the Riverina region. They come together to study, enjoy and perform exciting full symphonic repertoire. The orchestra rehearses on Wednesdays at 5.00 - 6.00pm and is currently under the artistic direction and conductorship of Brett Thompson, who has studied conducting with the late Leonard Dommett OBE, Graham Abbott and Dr Rob McWilliams. As an orchestral player he has had the privilege of working under many of the world’s most respected conductors including Vernon Handley and David Zinman.

Who is eligible to join? Any Riverina music student who can play an orchestral instrument who is approximately 4th Grade AMEB or above. 

When does the Youth Orchestra rehearse? The Riverina Youth Orchestra rehearses from 5 - 6 PM on each Wednesday afternoon during the school terms.
